Globetrotter 110 Suitcase
For their 100th anniversary, the luggage company, Globe-Trotter, went traditional expanding on their classic looks of the past. For their 110th anniversary they have stepped away from the past and into the future with this design which was created by Ross Lovegrove, whose work we most recently saw in the sinuous Muon speakers. The suitcase is done in curved carbon fiber. The case goes on sale in January, no price has been released yet.
Vertu Lightens Up With New Ascent Ti Carbon Fibre Collection
The market for big-bucks luxury cell phones may be shrinking, but that isn't about to stop Vertu. The premium division from Swedish telecom giant Nokia comes out with a new motorsport-inspired special edition every year, and Vertu has no intention of letting a little economic hiccup derail their plans. So while others cancel theirs, Vertu has launched the new Ascent Ti Carbon Fibre Collection.
Comprised of four special edition phones with various applications of the high-tech and dazzling material, the collection tops out with the $9,800 Ascent Ti Carbon Fibre Edition. The latest collection follows the same path as the previous Ferrari editions and Racetrack Legends series, giving those with deep pockets and a penchant for everything automotive a new mobile phone to covet.
Mansory Carbon Fiber Porsche Cayenne
Exotic auto tuner Mansory, makers of the $2.5 million Bugatti Veyron this year, have turned their attention to the Porsche Cayenne for their latest over-the-top creation. The Chopster as it's called has basically been completely rebuilt in carbon fiber with the addition of sporty chrome wedge-shaped panels on the doors. A product of Mansory's recent acquisition of Rinspeed's Porsche tuning arm, the revamped super-SUV has a wider, lower profile. Powering the beast is a 710 hp turbocharged V-8 with 665 lb.-ft. of torque and a top speed of 188 mph, while amped-up brakes are housed in massive 23″ x 11″ wheels. Inside you'll find even more carbon fiber, two-tone leather upholstery, a refrigerator, DVD player, internet-enabled laptop, head-rest monitor screens and more.
Mansory Cyrus Carbon Fiber Aston Martin
The exotic auto tuner rescued its reputation somewhat with the carbon fiber version of an Aston Martin it displayed at the Frankfurt Auto Show. The Cyrus as the car is called can be built from either the DB9 or DBS (James Bond's model of choice), with carbon body mods including front and rear wing extensions, side skirts, a front skirt with enlarged air intakes, and a reconfigured bonnet, plus a new rear skirt with an integrated diffuser and quadruple stainless steel exhausts. Interior upgrades include a carbon fiber dashboard and center console elements, a custom steering wheel and two-tone black and red leather upholstery.
limited edition koenigsegg CCXR Carbon Fiber edition
A limited edition Koenigsegg CCXR Trevita diamond-weave carbon fiber supercar (above), the first of only three being built for collectors worldwide, is for sale in South Africa with a whopping pricetag of $5 million, making it the world's most expensive supercars - easily beating out the Bugatti Pur Sang. The Swedish supercar is a special version of the marque's already exotic carbon fiber CCXR model, which goes for about $2 million. Both cars feature a 5.0 liter twin supercharged V8 engine producing 1,018 hp, and can do 0-62 mph in 2.9 seconds with a top speed of over 250 mph. The Trevita's unique diamond weave finish means that when exposed to sunlight it "sparkles like millions of silvery white diamonds infused inside the visible carbon fiber weave bodywork."
Dunhill Carbon Fiber Chassis Leather Collection
The carbon fiber components found on the world's most exclusive supercars get translated into a collection of stylish leather bags for London luxury goods firm Dunhill's new Spring / Summer 2010 offerings. The Chassis Leather collection is comprised of six elegant pieces gentleman's luggage, characterized by a unique graphic carbon fiber print applied to black matte leather, rendering each piece fully scratch proof and extremely durable. The six pieces in the collection feature gunmetal hardware and include a Holdall, 24 Hours Bag, Single Zip Briefcase, Messenger Bag, North South Bag, and Suit Carrier. Just the thing to toss in the back of your Bentley GT Speed.
Feldo Watches See Carbon Fiber As Still In
Feldo Luxury is a group I haven't personally heard of before. Not that I missed the memo, I don't think I was supposed to have heard about it. They are getting into the world of watches with an, original collection starting with the less than distinctive Feldo 1-1 R/B and 1-2 B/B watches. Each makes lots of use of carbon fiber and has only minor differences between the two models. The case is 45mm wide in an octagonal shape with a round dial. Feldo has used the "world's thinnest" carbon fiber plates on the dial. hands are large and circular - thinner forms of shapes I have seen on high-end Ulysse Nardin watches. Interesting looking seconds hands as well. The dial also has the date (once again displayed in a less than traditional manner). There is so much carbon fiber on the watch, it is as though the material is still as trendy as it was just until recently.
The gold tones on the watch are red gold plated, while the case is mostly PVD black steel. Inside the watch is an automatic Soprod A10 movement which is visible through the sapphire crystal caseback window. It comes with a black or white calf leather strap. Price is 2,775 euros. Having said all that I still don't know what to make of these watches. While there is a certain capability to the design, it lacks a level of maturity I prefer in watches that are in this range. It looks like the project of an ambitious industrial designer eager to make something new. A laudable goal, but the design just can't compete with similar offerings from more established groups at this price range for style and refinement. I will certainly look to Feldo's future offerings closely though.

Mansory Launches Carbon Fiber Furniture Line
Mansory, the German supercar tuning company known for outrageously over-the-top creations like the Vitesse Rosé Bentley and Vincero Bugatti Veyron, is bringing its dubious talents to bear on a new line of sickeningly luxurious office furniture for true "executive living". Modeled on the kind of ridiculously expensive bespoke interiors the company creates for its aesthetically impaired clients, the first offering in the new range is a line of handmade desk chairs constructed from carbon fiber, priced at $25,000/82,000 MYR apiece. Featuring something called a "sport-carboxylic" finish, the sybaritic seating is available with a number of leather upholstery and wood paneling options. One of the more hideous combinations couples padded gold leather with black piano lacquer inlays. You can of course have chairs made to match the interior of your Mansory vehicle. If you have the money and want to own one please click here to Mansory site.
The $360,000/1,182,780.02 MYR Carbon Fiber Canadian Supercar
We've seen exotic motors from all over the world, so why not a carbon fiber French Canadian supercar? For $360,000 HTT Technologies, brainchild of Quebec-based Luc Chartrand, will sell you a limited edition Pléthore LC-750 (above), which has a unique three seat configuration with a central driving position. Powered by a 750 hp 6.2-liter V8 engine its light weight of only 1149 kg gives it an impressive power-to-weight ratio. Somewhat similar in styling to the SSC Ultimate Aero the Pléthore sports gullwing doors and massive air intakes on the front and sides; the fairly restrained interior has some carbon fiber elements as well and two-tone orange and black leather upholstery. The car will be presented at the upcoming Top Marques Monaco show.
460,000usd/1,511,330.02 MYR Carbon Fiber Jet Boat Does 45 Knots
For $460,000, UK-based professional yachtsman and boatbuilder Jason Carrington is offering his new carbon fiber jet boat, the C-12, created in collaboration with Humphreys Yacht Design. Handmade from a Nomex honeycomb core shrouded in carbon fibre, the lightweight, high-performance craft has the maneuverability of a jet ski thanks to adjustable twin water jets. The 30-ft. C-12, capable of speeds of up to 45 knots in smooth water with a range of 700 miles, is the lightest and strongest craft in its class. The open aft deck houses two Steyr MO236 diesel engines and the twin water jets. An open transom gives directly on the water, producing a beach-deck effect. Hand-stitched leather details and sculpted cockpit mountings add a bespoke touch. The bows contain a small cabin with a double berth, lavatory, galley and wine rack. Carrington plans to build only four examples per year, and will also offer a 44-ft. version down the line.
The Propulsive Wing UAV
The Propulsive Wing UAV was fabricated exclusively from custom and stock Dragonplate carbon fiber materials. The project began at Syracuse University under contract from NASA Glenn Research Center, and is now being developed for military uses and wildfire prevention. The entire structure of the plane is composed of either off-the-shelf or custom carbon fiber components made by Dragonplate.
For example, the main center bulkhead was CNC cut from honeycomb core. The endplates, end fan mounting panels, and structural support ribs were made from solid carbon of various thicknesses. And internal servo mounts were cut from stock solid carbon angle material. In addition to off-the-shelf materials, the Propulsive Wing also includes several custom Dragonplate components, including specialty foam core tail booms, carbon fiber skinned wings and nose piece, and highly customized solid carbon spring landing gear. The propulsion system for this revolutionary UAV is not propeller driven, but instead is powered by wing-embedded cross-flow fans. Whereas typical cross-flow fans used in the heating and air conditioning field are made of regular plastic, which is relatively weak, the fans used in the Propulsive Wing were fabricated entirely from Dragonplate solid and pultruded carbon fiber to be exceptionally light and rigid, and are the world's only commercially produced carbon fiber cross-flow fans. For more info click here

Lamborghini Insecta Carbon Fiber Concept
The Insecta's resemblance to a beetle's sheath is especially apparent viewed from the side and above. The Insecta is similar in dimension to Lamborghini's Gallardo, though it is lower and wider with a slightly longer wheelbase. It gets its power from the same 5.0 liter V10 engine and drivetrain found in the Gallardo, but the design enhancements and use of carbon fiber make it lighter and faster. A glass engine cover seamlessly blends into the glass roof providing a clear view of the mid-mounted engine for optimum visual appeal.
